Sports in Spokane


For a mid-sized city, sports in Spokane is about what you would expect. The population is not big enough to support a professional sports franchise but that doesn’t mean that there isn’t any sports scene. I guess you could say that Spokane is a great minor league city.

There is Spokane’s arena football team the Spokane Shock which has been in the AF2 playoff for the last several years. They play all of their home games at the Spokane Arena.

 

 

In the summer time be sure to catch a Spokane Indians Baseball game at Avista Stadium. This ball park has been around since 1958 and has its own unique charm. It's always a fun place to be on those warm summer nights.

The Indians are the short season-A affiliate for the Texas Rangers and are always fun to watch.

 

 

 

The Spokane Chiefs are Spokane's junior hockey team that plays in the Western Hockey League. Like the Shock, the Chiefs play all of their home games at the Spokane Arena.

Gonzaga Basketball has become the hot ticket to get in Spokane. In fact you can't get tickets unless you know a season ticket holder that has a ticket they don't want.

The Bulldogs have dominated the WCC for the last 9 years and have also been a legit contender in the NCAA Men's Division I Basketball Tournament for the same period.
