Spokane Farmers Market

The Spokane Farmers Market is a fun place to go if you have some free time on weekend and want to pick up some really fresh produce, bread, meat and other types of organic products. It is open starting in May and runs until October.

It's put on by an association of Spokane area producers that came together in 1998 to form a self managed market to sell their products.

They not only have fresh produce to sell but there is usually some entertainment on hand to make for a very pleasurable experience.

I don't know about you but I love the sights and sounds of the Farmers Market.

A word to wise though. If you want to get the best produce, get there early. I've heard that they run out of the really fresh stuff fast so I would suggest getting there not too long after they open.

If you're like me, you like the idea of buying food direct from the farmer. We need to support the hard working  folks that put the food on our plates.

I remember as a kid I picked apples in the summer to make some spending money. I know how hard these people work.

So, go to the farmers market and buy some really fresh and healthy food for your family and support these local producers. It's a win-win situation.

The location of the Market changes from year to year so be sure to check out their website for more info. It's usually held on the weekends but starting about the middle of June the market is also open on Wednesdays. They open at 8:00 am and close at 1:00 pm.
