Essential Spokane Events


There are some unique Spokane events that make this area a destination for active people. There are events going all throughout the year.

At the beginning of the year there is First Night Spokane. In the Spring the annual Bloomsday run is a huge draw and then Hoopfest to name a few. These events are what make Spokane a vibrant city the whole year round.

Annual Events

Here are some of the annual events that will help you catch the spirit of Spokane:

First Night Spokane is a huge new years eve celebration of the arts that's been happening since 2001. The cool thing about this event is that it's got something for everybody. It doesn't matter if you are 8 years old or 80. Come downtown and start the new year off on the right foot.
   
Bloomsday is the annual 12K run that happens every year on the first weekend in May. It's huge and should not be missed if you are going to be in town. It's fun just to watch or get your running gear on and get out there.
   
The Spokane Hoopfest Association's 3-on-3 basketball tournament is a big huge event that happens in downtown Spokane every year on the last weekend in June. It's billed as the largest event of it's kind  in the world.
   
The annual Spokane Lilac Festival Parade and it's associated events have been a Spokane tradition since 1938 and is always held on the 3rd Saturday in May.
   
Pig Out in the Park is a huge annual food and entertainment event that's been held for the last 30 years in Spokane. It's held in Riverfront Park every Labor Day and is a Spokane end of summer tradition.
