A great way to catch the art vibe is to check out First Friday. What is First Friday you ask? In a nutshell it is an "art walk" that happens in downtown Spokane the first Friday of every month that features art by local artists on display in art galleries, wineries and many restaurants in downtown Spokane.

First Friday is not a Spokane invention. There are many cities in the U.S. doing the same thing to promote their local artists and invigorate their downtown core. Some of the more prominent cities are: Phoenix, San Antonio, Philadelphia, Denver Kansas City and Raleigh to name a few.

Good food, wine tasting, music and art... What could be better than that? So mark your calendar and come downtown on the first Friday of the month.

Artfest happens once a year on the first weekend in June when the weather gets warm and everything is green again. It runs from Friday until Sunday in Coeur d' Alene Park in Brown's Addition.

There over 100 artisans from all over the Inland Northwest displaying sculpture, fiber, photographic art, ceramics, woodwork, toys and jewelry.

The Northwest Museum of Arts and Culture (MAC) is home to a wonderful collection of local artifacts as well a  host for traveling exhibitions. Boasting six galleries of exhibits, a 300 seat outdoor amphitheater, cafe and museum store. It is well worth your time to pay a visit and spend an afternoon.
