In a nutshell it is an "art walk" that happens in downtown Spokane the first Friday of every month that features art by local artists on display in art galleries, wineries and many restaurants in downtown Spokane.
First Friday is not a Spokane invention. There are many cities in the U.S. doing the same thing to promote their local artists and invigorate their downtown core. Some of the more prominent cities are: Phoenix, San Antonio, Philadelphia, Denver Kansas City and Raleigh to name a few.
Good food, wine tasting, music and art... What could be better than that? So mark your calendar and come downtown on the first Friday of the month.
