Rockwood Bakery is a hidden gem on the south side of Spokane. They make some of the best scones and pastries in Spokane and their coffee is always great. The bakery is located within walking distance of Manito Park and is one of our favorite places to meet for coffee and goodies after church.
The building that houses the restaurant used to be a neighborhood market before it's conversion to a bakery and coffee shop. I personally love the ambiance of this old building with it's wood floors and high ceilings. They added an outdoor patio where you can watch the world go by as you sip your coffee and enjoy one the wonderful pastries that they bake every morning.

A lot of people stop by for some treats on their way to the park, and some (like us), bring their dogs and sit outside with them. The patio is a great place to sit on those warm summer days, but it can get crowded, especially on the weekend.
Did
I mention that they have great coffee? I think my favorite pastry is a good
cherry turnover and they make some great ones here. Unfortunately they were sold out
of them on the day I took these pictures. Word to the wise, get there early!
They also serve soups, salads and quiches so its also a great place to grab a quick lunch.
If you are on Spokane's South Hill give the Rockwood a try. You won't be disappointed.
