Coeur D Alene, Idaho

A day trip to beautiful Coeur D Alene, Idaho is a great way to spend some quality time relaxing by the lake or shopping in some of the unique stores downtown. Of course there are some great restaurants that you need to try while you are here.

This charming city is located just east of Spokane and is only a 30 mile drive on Interstate 90. It’s location on the lake and its small town atmosphere gives the area a unique charm.

We love to come spend the day here and just enjoy walking around town checking out the art galleries and antique shops. There are also some wonderful restaurants to try.

The downtown area is dominated by the Coeur d'Alene Resort which sits right on the shores of the lake and takes up several blocks of the downtown area. It’s always fun to take a walk around the dock that surrounds the marina that sits right in front of the resort and take in the sights.

You must take a lake cruise while you’re here. The resort has a fleet of 4 boats that you can take anywhere from a 90 minute sight seeing cruise to a 2 hour sunset dinner cruise.

You can catch the daily public cruises that leave from Independence Point which is just west of the resort. You don't need a reservation and costs $19.75 for Adults, $17.75 for Seniors (55+) and $11.75 for Children 6 - 12.

There are some unique stores and restaurants in the downtown area that are within walking distance of the resort and the city park.
