The Amazing Corn Maze Hauser, Id

The Amazing Corn Maze has become a local tradition in the Spokane and North Idaho. The brain child of Chris Leinwebber and Suzie Dunn, this is the 8th season they have put it on. The cool thing is that the money they raise is used to support 10 different nonprofit organizations in the local community.

You gotta love that!

The maze is in 12 acres of corn located at 3405 N. Beck Road, Hauser ID on a farm owned by the Lyn and Cheryl Humphreys of C&L farms. Each year Chris and Suzie use a different theme for the maze which is created by a designer from the mid west.

The Amazing Corn Maze Hauser IdahoThe theme for 2011 is Wild Life and features an Elk maze, Deer maze and a Moose maze. The designs are very intricate and provide hours of enjoyment for the whole family.

This year they have more attractions than just the corn maze. There are food concessions offering up favorites like Elephant ears, funnel cakes and kettle corn.

This year also features helicopter rides so that you can see the maze from the air. Let me tell you, this is a cool way to check out the maze and enjoy the scenery especially in the fall when we have those warm sunny days.

To add the the fun this year there are carnival rides from September 30th - October 30th. There really is something for the whole family to enjoy. I can't think of a better way to enjoy the fall here in the inland northwest.

Putting on a corn maze like this is almost a year round job. Chris and Suzie start planning for next year almost as soon as the this years maze is finished. Suzie tells me that in November it takes about three days and 6 to 10 people to help clean up so that C&L farms can plant again next year.

So pack up the car and kids and go get lost in the this years bigger and better corn maze. There's more than enough fun for the whole family but just don't let this happen to you...
